Building a Career That Impacts the Environment

Working in the renewable energy industry is not just about building a promising career—it’s also about directly contributing to environmental sustainability. Husniyyah, a Project Supervisor at ATW Solar, shares her experience in this field. Every project she works on not only contributes to the development of renewable energy in Indonesia but also helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

One of the most meaningful aspects of her job is its impact on the environment. Solar power plants (PLTS) harness the sun’s energy, an unlimited and eco-friendly natural resource. According to her, “By working in this sector, I feel like I’m playing a role in preserving the Earth for future generations.”

The Future of Green Jobs in Indonesia

Career opportunities in the renewable energy sector are vast, especially with government support. Law No. 33 of 2023 on Energy Conservation regulates facilitation, development, and supervision in this sector, opening up many job opportunities for professionals, particularly young people. As the demand for clean energy grows, so does the need for a skilled workforce in green jobs.

According to Husniyyah, “A green job is not just a source of income—it also contributes to environmental preservation.” With stronger regulatory support, Indonesia’s renewable energy industry will continue to grow, and she believes this sector will become one of the main pillars of national energy security.

Challenges in the Field & How to Overcome Them

Every job comes with its challenges, and in the renewable energy industry, the biggest challenge Husniyyah faces is communication. In a PLTS installation project, multiple stakeholders are involved, including technical teams, clients, and regulators. Poor communication can lead to project delays and inefficiencies.

To address this, the team at ATW Solar conducts daily Toolbox Meetings (TBM) every morning before starting work. “On-site, we always hold Toolbox Meetings (TBM) to discuss each team member’s tasks and responsibilities so that everything runs smoothly. Additionally, we conduct an afternoon TBM to evaluate completed work and discuss any challenges encountered. With effective communication, team coordination improves, and projects run more smoothly.” she explained.

Tips for Starting a Career in Renewable Energy

For anyone looking to enter this industry, Husniyyah has one important message: “Never give up!” Renewable energy is a rapidly evolving sector that requires individuals who are eager to learn and adapt. Every challenge faced is an opportunity to grow.

She firmly believes that the key to success is to never stop learning. In an industry that is constantly advancing, the ability to continuously develop skills and knowledge is essential. Don’t be afraid to take the first step, and most importantly, stay passionate in every step of the journey.

Working at ATW Solar has given Husniyyah invaluable experiences and opened her eyes to the importance of clean energy for the future. If you’re interested in building a career in this field, now is the perfect time to take that first step!
